Ailsa Craig Medical Practice is a G.P. practice based in Longsight, Manchester and I worked there part time during my school and university holidays. Due to its location, a large proportion of the patient population do not speak English as their first language. This means that I often had to be resourceful and work with other members of the Ailsa Craig team when helping patients on the phone or at reception. The last three Septembers, I have gone to the Manchester University Fresher’s Fair as a representative of Ailsa Craig to sign up new patients to the practice. This is competitive as there are multiple General Practises who all want to sign up the same group of people. So being punctual and maintaining a professional and approachable appearance was necessary to help them feel Ailsa Craig could look after their needs.
