I’ve spent nearly a decade in various engineering roles within the powder metal industry. Engineers are tasked with taking existing parts and making them better, stronger, and improving process flow. But I’ve always wondered: “what if these problems had been anticipated earlier in the stages of development”. “What if someone with a background in engineering had a seat at the table when this product was being discussed for the first time?” Wouldn’t that make for a better product all around? Wouldn’t that make the relationship between supplier and user stronger than ever? It was that line of thinking that lead me to pursue opportunities beyond the field of engineering.
