After a few years stint as CSO, I have developed a knack for spotting key products, setting up and establishing strategic partnerships to supplement Hardy Dx's product portfolio; in addition to my recent health scare, it was decided to optimize and channel my efforts in Business Development where I truly thrive.

Responsible for setting overall strategic/technical direction as well as fostering key alliances for the Hardy organization, in addition to the general Directorship duties.

Responsible for Clinical Trials, FDA submissions, Technical Support, Quality Control and Business Development.

Participant in the Microbiology Expert Panel, Subcommittees for (i) Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing, (ii) Abbreviated Identification of Bacteria and Yeast and (iii) MALDI-TOF by providing advice and recommendations to the guidance documents

Part-time per diem microbiologist. Performed routine diagnostic duties, conventional culture methods and PCR.

Product Development, clinical trials/510(k) submission, and support work to the marketing/sales team. Played key role in the development, clinical trial and FDA submission of resistance detection products such as Spectra MRSA (for nasal and blood culture claims), Spectra VRE, and RPMI media for antifungal susceptibility testing.Co-travel with sales team providing post launch support work, and business development.

Data analysis and manuscript preparation of antimicrobial surveillance studies, mainly for the post-launch work of Tigecycline (Wyeth Pharmaceuticals).

Directed Technical Support, QC and R&D departments. Launched key products such as StrepB Carrot Broth (GBS detection), Carboferm (identification of Neisseria species), and early HardyCHROM chromogenic products.Business development and support work to the sales/marketing team, and pharmaceuticals in the area of custom susceptibility disks.

Routine diagnostic clinical microbiology.Member of clinical microbiology and anti-infective advisory team. Coordination and participation in the Brazilian portion of worldwide antimicrobial resistance surveillance projects such as MYSTIC (meropenem), PROTEKT (telithromycin), GSMART/LSMART (Quinupristin/Dalfopristin), RESISTNET, SENTRY, and others.
