With the training received from ‘I HEART CONSENT’ I have recently founded a local charity, which will soon teach consent workshops in senior schools.Within these workshops, we will focus on defining consent, communicating consent, societal attitudes of consent and sexual assault, and mythbusters, which aim to dispel popular beliefs surrounding sexual assault, such as how it can happen to any gender, in order to break down the stigma of victim-hood from the viewpoint of both men and women, girls and boys. These workshops aim towards clearly teaching what consent is and isn’t to not only prevent sexual assault, but to work towards a world whereby everyone can benefit from fundamentally being aware of respect and boundaries, committing to the safety, well-being and empowerment of not only the students as individuals, but also as members of society.

In this role I predominantly supported midwives and doctors, as well as mothers and their families to promote safe and appropriate care for the overall health and wellbeing of women. A large part of this role is developing trust and relationships with women in a very short space of time and performing clinical tasks to monitor the health of both mums to be and their babies in a high-pressured environment.

My role at Maternity Worldwide consisted of designing and running all fundraising and media communication campaigns for the charity, as well as coordinating community and individual fundraising. I also managed web content and social media, as well as the monthly financial reports. Within this role I developed on skills such as organization, creativity, and working under pressure in a role that holds such responsibility.
