Profile bio

About Alyssa Palina

I have fourteen years of experience teaching art and four years of experience teaching a gifted and enrichment program. I believe an outstanding educator should be caring, optimistic, determined, knowledgeable, patient, and organized. They should have a great rapport with and be motivated to reach all students. An outstanding teacher should differentiate instruction to accommodate all learning styles and always be aware of their student’s different needs and skill levels in the classroom. We as teachers have a huge impact on our student’s lives and it is important to remember to remain a good role model for our students. Discipline is essential to give students boundaries and help them stay on task in the classroom, but it is also important to show that you care about the child’s well-being. I think all outstanding teachers should make each day count and always maintain positivity and enthusiasm in their classroom as well as in their content area. Not every student is fortunate enough to have a supportive family so it is essential for teachers to ensure that every child receives the optimal education provided. Students require patience because they cannot master a skill immediately. It is an outstanding educator's job to organize beneficial lesson plans to scaffold the material to every child’s skill level. Teachers are not only shaping the future for all other professions, but they are role models, care givers, councilors, and authority figures. These are some qualities I believe an outstanding educator should possess.
