* This was a fascinating appointment; working with the Government's New Deal scheme helping * the long term unemployed get started with self employment. The position was advisory, * handling up to 50 clients at one time, helping them through start-up and the first 6-12 * months of trading; ensuring success of these (most varied) businesses. Falling * unemployment in Cambridgeshire made this financially untenable and my office was closed.

* My involvement with this group started in 1990, soon after starting Linfordes Ltd. In * that year I assisted in the takeover and integration of Associated Coaches Ltd into the * group. In 1995, the exercise was repeated with another local operator, Busby Coaches. * Whilst working for this company, I have put into practise my experience with Sage, Excel * and Word/Works and introduced some more specialised software relating to the coaching * industry. * I helped take this small manufacturing company from the initial design stage, arranged * development stage funding and joined them when production was just starting. Within three * years we had a range of products and had orders for over one million. I would have liked * to stay with this company but the directors sold the company to an engineering firm near * Norwich. My brief included; financial control (bookkeeping, variance, costing & pricing) * and marketing analysis.

* I helped form this company and expanded my network contacts developed within NatWest; * providing an informed brokerage service for commercial finance. Typically, I produced * business plans with cashflow and profit & loss forecasts and made a presentation to * lenders to obtain the finance required.

* Joined Animax/Clinimax in October 2005 to take over a role of accountant for the small * start up company and Animax, an established medium company. Just one person reporting to * me; the role covers costings, sales statistics, monthly management reports and everything * you would expect in a company with 3m turnover plus currency accounts and invoice * discounting (factoring). (Sage Line 50). * Highlights include a rapid financial restructure of the business, which has had poor * results for the last two years. Reduced the debt burden and introduced a culture of * positive attitude to make the accounts department more interactively positive to enable * the other departments to relate and enhance performance. * Salary 34750.00pa

* This was a traditional training in customer care, lending and financial control, and * administration. The last two positions with NatWest were as Business Development Manager, * Bringing together the marketing resources of 15 Branches (approx. 250 staff). * Setting up contacts and introducers of business (solicitors/accountants/ insurance * advisers/Rotary Club/business clubs etc). * During this successful time we not only achieved 95% of our targets but this included * 400% of target for mortgage business. * Established a new mortgage desk and recruited a small team to assist me. * By providing a good service and fast turn-around we quickly gained a solid base of * introduced business. * Before the marketing position, I was six years in lending, assessing and preparing * business plans for head office approval.
