Lead TeacherDurham Service Corps Dec 1993 - Aug 1994Conducted Pre- and post academic testing to determine whether corps members, ranging in age from 17-21, would enter a GED (high school equivalency diploma/certificate) or AHSD (Adult High School Diploma) curriculum. In either area of study, determined by Durham Technical Community College, classes were organized and assessed through IEPs with intense oversight of each student's progress. Students could not move to the next level of curricula requirements until mastering of material was achieved and measured in each required course. GED and AHSD curricula were entirely different. It was my responsibility to ensure that the entire educational aspect of DSC was effective, efficient and student centric--leading to the greatest number of successful AHSD graduates and GED acquisitions.

This program (in which I worked), supported teaching, research, and outreach services, and was located in the new (at that time) Hayti Heritage Center of Durham.Major responsibility was to ensure that all materials were maintained at the highest levels of archival integrity as possible under the conditions of that time. All materials were unpublished and not accessible to the public.The major collection of my responsibility was the Floyd B. McKissick Papers, 1940s-1980s, now housed in the Southern Historical Collection, UNC-Chapel Hill.
