I built Bananny.org (AirBnB for Nanny Shares) and the Ruby on Rails app behind it because parents need a better way than Facebook Groups to find nanny share families. The solution is super MVP because it's a Google Site with an embedded Google Form, which hits the Rails API where Sidekiq continually scans for families in close proximity and then matches them via email. Unique tokens are linked to a handful of actions that users can take in the email (similar to the concept of a newsletter signup's email confirmation). Matched families can see their compatibility at a glance and then accept or reject their match. The company is a nonprofit and the service is completely free. Reason being is that I personally experienced the pain points of finding childcare—caught between daycare waitlists (and their fees) and exorbitant private nannies—and studied the failed attempts of for-profit companies like CozyKin. Hence the nonprofit approach so that women (mostly moms and nannies) and children can benefit from a sustainable solution.

When the pandemic struck, I spent a lot of my spare time picking up Spanish. I started practicing with language partners all the time, when one day driving home I thought to myself "I really just want to dial a number and be instantly connected with a native Spanish speaker over the phone." So I built software that did that!The backend was a Rails API, and the frontend was a mobile phone (but not a mobile app). Users in the United States and Mexico could call or text their local Fluentel number, and my software would try to connect them with an available language partner. Users could even buy minutes over the phone or secure link using a PCI-compliant Stripe integration.

These standards establish the data management good practices FLU/CFs are to follow to help ensure data completeness, accuracy and timeliness. Data incident governance and active QA helps FLUs/CFs adhere to enterprise data management standards for logging and remediation data issues.

We're creating a web & mobile platform that lets people listen to online articles narrated by real people! Text-to-Speech transcription doesn't do it justice; an algorithm lacks human intuition and intonation. 1. Narrators decide what they want to narrate (otherwise, we'd just curate all the vapid clickbait articles).2. Publishers and bloggers can reach a wider "readership" without worrying about bounce rates.3. The visually impaired, dyslexic, and folks simply too busy to read those articles occupying 17 open tabs in their browser can just sit back and listen. :)
