World Vision

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization focused on improving the lives of children, families, and communities worldwide by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. Strongly influenced by Christian values, the organization provides emergency assistance to children and families affected by disasters and conflict, partner with communities for long-term solutions to alleviate poverty, and advocate for justice on behalf of the poor. Its primary focus areas include child protection, clean water, economic development, education, faith in action, food and agriculture, gender, health, U.S. work, and more. World Vision is focused on transformational development that is community-based and sustainable, focused especially on the needs of children; emergency relief that assists people afflicted by conflict or disaster; promotion of justice that seeks to change unjust structures affecting the poor among whom we work; partnerships with churches to contribute to spiritual and social transformation; and public awareness that leads to informed understanding, giving, involvement, and prayer. World Vision was founded by Robert Pierce in 1950 and is headquartered in Monrovia, California.
