What you need to do: Check the utility bills for your facility(s). If you are paying the sales tax on those bills, you are going to qualify for either a partial exemption or a 100% (Predominant Use) exemption from that sales tax, based on our engineers utility analysis. Each state's law regarding this tax matter is different. In Indiana, the statute of limitations entitles you to a "rolling three year" refund on sales tax paid. This includes three years plus all remaining months. You can obtain up to four years worth of refund for sales tax paid on utilities.
