The Democratic Party of the Philippines is a reformist political party that positions itself as the real third force party against the "trapos" or traditional politicians who dominate the country today. It is the alternative party of the Filipino people and stands as the vanguard in the people's quest for dignity, freedom and justice. It will pursue a just and lasting peace as the foundation for economic development and progress. The Party espouses non-violence, progressivism, social justice, representative democracy and grassroots democracy in its economic and political agenda. It promotes transformative politics and takes the lead in initiating transformative political actions. It promotes people empowerment through people’s participation and involvement. It encourages democratic consultation and dialogue with multi-sector organizations.
