Alternatives is a regional Community Development Credit Union (CDCU) and a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). Our mission is to build wealth and create economic opportunity for underserved people and communities. Our vision is to lead an economic movement to create thriving, empowered communities with financial freedom for everyone. CDFIs like Alternatives have a strong dedication to delivering much needed financial services, such as responsible, non-predatory lending, to underserved populations in our communities. In the same way, CDCUs are committed to providing access to safe financial services and education for those populations. Alternatives is proud to be both a CDFI and a CDCU, something few other credit unions can claim. Our Community Programs include Free Tax Preparation, Student Credit Union, Financial Wellness, and Business CENTS.
