Allied Ceramics Art Institute (ACAI)

Mission: Empowering the community by encouraging creativity through the ceramic arts. Vision: ACAI promotes interaction among artists, craftsmen, laymen and the community at large. It promotes community appreciation of the ceramic arts and encourages self-expression, technical and artistic development through exhibitions, classes, and the opportunities provided by a shared learning environment. We are a non- profit community studio that provides the space, equipment and support needed for ceramic arts. The studio offers outstanding artistic, educational, and collaborative opportunities in ceramic arts to everyone in the community at large. It is a resource for personal and professional development for everyone interested in ceramics, including children, inquisitive beginners, off and on hobbyists, collectors, and emerging and experienced artists. Philosophy: Everyone in the community has the ability to create art and, through that art, to contribute to the beauty, excitement, and vigor of our surroundings. Such creativity is encouraged in a community that provides a safe, nurturing environment where members can develop skills in visual arts and crafts. Community commitment to the arts and crafts is a vital part of creating and maintaining a well-balanced society. (ACAI) is an all volunteer 501 C(3) public benefit non profit founded in 2009 by a group of potters. Its recognized by Guidestar as a silver member. Our support comes from generous community donations, fees for service and a small grant from the Sacramento Metropolitan Art Commission. Facility: Our 3,000 square foot facility includes 7 private studios, gallery space, a sculpture courtyard garden, classroom space, kiln yard and off street parking. The ceramic studio is fully equipped and ready for community members to drop in and do or learn ceramics.
